For the amount information in these chapters, I still feel like I know very little about the software terminology discussed in this book or how it fits with art production. There many terms that I haven't hear before used to define other terms I hadn't used before. "Software as a large field is largely seen as a question of realized instrumentality" Best quote of the intro I thought.
Function - self-contained section of code that is layed in a standard way to enable deployment and re-use at any number of different points within a program. Small and limited to performing a single task, functional programming is design with only the use of functions
Loop - paradoxical repetition, needs only one opportunity to become infinite, but it clearly has to start and end at some point
There is a large theme of language when reading these definitions, something I have been particularly interested in - semantics, structuralism, post-humanism, etc. - whether that be human to human, human to robot, or human to animal methods of communication.
